I had the day off from work today so I decided to go fishing. As you know, Candlewood is closed as of today for trout stocking, so I decided to drive over to Lilly and see what was going on there. I tried launching my boat 10 different ways, but the lake was so far down that I would have had to wreck my trailer to get in. I drove over to check out the other launch down the lake, and that was hopeless as well. I decided to drive over the mountain and go fish on Zoar. The fishing up river was slow with temperatures in the low 40's. I fished there for about 3 hours withouth a bite. I decided I should check out the lower end of the lake to see what it was like down there. I ended up finding some warmer water before the end of the day and boated 3 bass; two good smallmouth and a big black. I caught the largemouth on a jig, one smallie on a hair jig, and one on a hollow belly swimbait. It was pretty slow, but once I found that warmer water(53 degrees), the fish were more willing to bite. In one of the pictures you can see the crayfish that jumped out of the bass' mouth when I boat flipped him. Smallies are sooooo greedy!
