Dan decides to give Barkley another chance for the second day of practice. We drive about 40 minutes and launch on the south end. We fish 8 or 10 spots with little luck. Dan is mostly stroking a jig and I'm thrown a big worm and swimbait.

We are catching some, but they're all small. How exactly you can catch small fish on a worm that big is beyoned me. It's about 10 and Dan decides that if we don't find the big ones by noon we'll go back and launch on Kentucky and fish there. He has 2 other areas he wants to check while were down there. We pull up to a drop and Dan starts stroking his jig. Stroking a jig is kind of like hopping the jig and then letting it fall on slack line; but the motion of the rod hops the jig straight up off the bottom instead of towards the boat. Dan sets the hook and this time his rod bows over. A 5lber leaps at the side of the boat and jumps off. About 10 minutes later Dan catches another good one. We leave that spot and pull up on anther drop in the next creek up. Dan catches one over 6. We leave and head a few hundred yards away. Another boat pulls in near us so we can't set the hook. I shake off 6 or 7 on a big worm and 2 of them I know were good ones. Dan shakes off a couple. We move to another spot still within site of the other boat. I shake off another good one. The boat finally leaves and moments later I get bit. Dan tells me to swing away, and I end up catching one close to 4lbs. By the end of the day Dan had close to 22lbs and I had that one good one. Dan was happy though; he found the fish and was catching them how he wanted to.
