Life is funny like that sometimes. When I won Co-angler of the year and finished in 9th overall in the Stren's in 2007 I couldn't do anything wrong. If a fish got hung up in dock cables, it would undo itself and swim out. If I made a decision to give up on my pattern and try something new it would pay off. I've talked to guys who have been fishing professionally for a long time and they've told me it happens to everyone; you just have to work through it and know that you can actually catch fish with the best of them.
