It was a great day out there it was mine and my partners first Piketoberfest and it was a great one. Hit the water at 6 A.M. and all we could get were bass. Had one nice follow on a 9 inch houdini shad but it didn't take.
Here is me and Steve with the first fish of the day right at 6.

Right after I picked up this little striper got a nice pic with the sun just starting to come up

Nice 3 lb + bass from sievel on the 9 inch houdini shad

another one of sievel's bass that was only 3 and a half inches shorter than the striper plug he was using

On our way back to the launch at about 1 we finally got on the board with Steve's first pike of the tourney and his first pike of his life.

Before you know it its 145 and we decided to throw a few casts around 53 on our way back. I was throwing a 2 oz. spinner pretty much identical in color to the mepps #4 that Steve was throwing and sure enough the pike rookie lands the second pike of his life after a great fight on light tackle and a net that you couldn't even fit a perch into. As soon as I saw it I said congrats you probably just placed in a pike tournament on the second pike of your life and sure enough he grabbed 2nd place with 33.5 inches!!! Great job Steve

To everyone who made this day happen Thank you it was great and next year will prove to be better. It was great to get out and meet everyone for the first time. Hopefully I'll run into you guys on the ice this year.
