Nope, handgun deer hunting was in SB 207. That bill will go nowhere now that the fee issues were taken care of in HB 5545
I stand corrected - SB 207 is still alive. Hopefully this too will make it through.
It's now only about a new $5 permit/tag that will allow deer hunting with a handgun.
446 [said sections] this section and section 26- 447 86c, as amended by this act. The commissioner shall issue, upon 448 payment of a five-dollar fee, to the owner of ten or more acres of 449 private land or a resident of this state, who has the consent of the 450 owner of ten or more acres of private land, a private land pistol or 451 revolver permit that allows the use of a pistol or revolver, as defined in 452 section 29-27, to hunt deer from November first to December thirty 453 first, inclusive, pursuant to the bag limit established for a private land 454 deer permit under this subsection. Any person authorized to hunt deer 455 by pistol or revolver pursuant to this subsection shall use a cartridge of 456 .357 caliber or larger for such purpose.
