You certainly are the only 55 year old who like Korn and Rob. Don't forget your ear plugs!!!

Ditto x 2 - Slayer/Megadeth are too soft for me. I want Satyricon, Cradle of Filth, Belphegor, etc. to come across the pond..

Korn and Rob Zombie became mainstream teenie bop bands years ago...

Have fun tbob...

Have you checked out some of the American death metal, like Deicide and Obituary? I saw Obituary last year and they rocked!

I love Slayer but man I just googled some of the other bands mentioned on this thread and it's too hard core for me. I have to at least be able to decipher the lyrics after a few times listening.

Yeah, I like some of the American Metal, Obituary and Prong among them. On my iPod I also have Helmet, Job For A Cowboy, Lamb of God, Marylin Manson, Mushroomhead, Six Feet Under, Type O Negative, Tool - I could go on, but the European and Scandinavian stuff I dig the most...

Have a look see at some stuff from Brazil, Sweden, Norway, England...

dimmu borgir

Meshugga

cradleoffilth

Here is some Soulfly (Brazil) - remember Sepultura ?

Soulfly

There is a LOT of music in Memphis, just not blues, jazz, etc. I plan on seeing a lot more live metal there than over here. There is Mud Island in Memphis, which is an island on the Mississippi River that has some crazy concerts.

I'm with you buddy. Love it hard, but hate what I can't understand. Death metal ain't my thing. I find that as I get older, I get more into mainstream hard rock bands. For example, just downloaded Shinedown-The Sound of Madness and LOVE IT! Their cover of Simple Man on a Previous Album is phenomenal as well.

FYI - Heard an interview with Lars this week. He is trying to put a North America tour with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax together for next year. Sucks that is was only in Europe this year.
