I spent the weekend with friends at the Cape and took out their 25 foot Parker to troll for tuna around Racepoint and the Stellwagon area.
We were surrounded by whales and dolphin everywhere feasting on mackerel.
What a show!
The tuna weren't in the mix, but a friend did box a 56” fish. Everyone struggled to find em but the stage was set for an epic bite that just didn’t happen.
Massive schools of big blues which we accidentally doubled up on some gorillas.

One breached 5 feet away from one of our bars and we were afraid it may snag it.
They were literally around the boat for an hour just popping up startling the hell out of us like holy crap! It was an amazing sight!

It's fun to be close to whales, I've enjoyed it many times over the years. Generally great fishing, too bad the tuners didn't show for you guys. There's a reason you see very few photos like yours though. Do-gooders are always on the lookout for what they consider whale abusers.

That would be a little scary with the whales so close. Too bad no hook ups on tunas.

If there are fish to catch. I'll be there to my end.

WOW!

Fishing: the art of casting, trolling, jigging, or spinning while freezing, sweating, swatting, or swearing.
