On Friday, I took a vacation day and took my boat to Mashapaug. The scenery and serenity far surpassed the fishing, but I caught a few solid largies and some shorts. I only fished deep weed beds and my electronics showed several schools of bait (alewives) hanging around and the bass knew it.
Lots of inconsiderate kayakers blocking the launch ramp when I attempted to load up. There was plenty of space to launch or load a kayak, but they park on the ramp then load/unload and all the straps and gear takes them 10 minutes. I’m in or out in 2!
I guess Friday is the new Saturday! Don’t people go to work? lol

Yesterday morning I took the kayak out and had a stress free launch and retrieve. lol
Caught some quality fish in deep water over sand grass. I caught these two on back to back casts. It was good to see some beasts do live in this pond, I’m still trying to piece it together and I’m having fun learning it. Also caught a bunch of smaller bass and slime darts so the bite was good. It got very windy and I decided to stop fighting it and headed out with a smile.
