I got out a few times over the last few weeks. The first trip, 2 weeks ago, was a solid morning with 9 fish landed and 4 or 5 more missed or lost on jumps.
Last week the river swelled to spring like conditions due to the heavy rain up north, and despite my best efforts, I got skunked.
Today, the flow was back to mid summer level but there was a ton of grass to contend with. I brought a few Stanley Horny Toads and caught 1 on it, but lost 2 others. Trying to drive that hook with a dropshot rod was not ideal. The whopper plopper 90 continues to shine and seeing the explosive hits never gets old.
