my buddy met a fella thru work that told him he never gets a fishing license and hes been stopped many times with short stripers. everytime getting off and they make him release the stripers even though they are dead.he gets off by speaking in his native tongue when hes approached. he said they never asked to see a license either.he can speak english too, but he knows how to work the language barrier.he takes lots of shorts when he doesn't get caught and sells them to neighbors.i would figure seeing shorts and asking for a license would go hand in hand.

They know they are not going to be put in jail. They should have all the fishing gear taken away from them. That way there it would cost them something. Half of them don't even have driver lic. but they are still driving and forget about insurance and the Veh, being reg. They know how to use the system, so they are not that dumb.
yeah there are mexicans/whatever all at the end of the Point Judith Harbor of refuge western wall all summer with porgies/whatever they catch in their 65$ surf rods all dead in a plastic bag..game wardens need to sit there and make a fortune. They probably do the same thing w/ the language your talkin about

Saw this happen first hand fishing at the newtown boat launch last spring. a mexican family piled out of a minivan with a bunch o f surf rods. As they were stringing up a DEP pulled in and tried checking their licenses. She eventually gave up after hearing "no hable ingles" 50 times and came over to check mine. I walked by to get to my car later and heard them speaking perfect english....not even an accent
cant really get to mad cause who wouldnt do the same thing. as far as keeping undersized stripers goes they should really take their equipment. Its one thing to fish without a license once a year but that should have some consequences
