hypothetical situation:

you hold off purchasing the fishing liscense; waiting for the price to drop, which it will, sometime in march based on some bills being put in place right now.

during this time, you get pinched. mail in your ticket not guilty.
court takes 4 months to process, so your court date takes place in mid june/july; AFTER THE PRICE OF THE LISCENSE HAS DROPPED.

you're argument has been proven, and you also cite the early season implementation, than retraction of the initial saltwater liscense bungle that took place last season, stating you just dont want to pay one fee, than have the price changed or the liscense nullified like in the fall. lots of folks paid 10$ for something that was cancelled the next day. you state that you either will, or already have purchased a fishing liscense at the new rate price.

opinions?

My opinion is the courts will treat it like they currently treat most fishing offenses including poaching. They will just drop the charges because the courts got more important things to deal with.

it is sad that all the time and money spent/wasted from the Enconn budget is all for nothing ,again because the courts just do not want to deal with such simply things as a fishing fine.

Yeah But once they start, they will start making "Examples"......The way I see It,...I've taken it in the pooper, when the reductions come then all will be right in the world again I am against the Salt license, but it cost me 4 friggin dollars,..not worth losing my hunting/fishing privilages for a year if they happen to make my loud mouth the "example" $30 bucks is rediculous,...4 bucks is a mistake I can live with......I hope this sounds right....

I will not be doing anyhting illegal. I just will change what and where I do it. Meaning the majority of my sportsman dollars will be spent out of state.

I am also not against an increase, just against the 100% increase.I will gladly pay to play in CT but not at the current prices.

Enconn is the one really getting screwed here.So much time is wasted on enforcement only to have the courts throw it all out .It is a real slap in the face to the officers out enforcing the laws.

Sounds like the green jackets will be busy this yr.To bad there's not enough of them to cover all the lakes in the state. If they really wanted to jump up there funding. All's they have to do is enforce the lic laws in new haven alone. When they catch someone that supposibly don't speak english. They just let them walk.See it for myself in New Haven a few yrs back when they were keeping short stripers.I'll just stick to fishing my private lake and keep my money. As Jon said...*I'll save a ton of money not towing my boat or gassing it up. The state don't nearly enough for its sportsmen to justify the 100% increase.

If you voted for Malloy your an idoit if you voted for Obama you just an ass hole and should be striped of your citizenship!

I wasnt going to but one until spring if at all.

After going out twice on the ice I figure I will probably going out a lot more so it WAS worth not losing my gear or getting a fine just to buy one.

I usually fish small ponds and lakes where I have never seen any guys patrolling for unlicensed anglers.

Besides picking it up now for ice fishing, I at time fish at some state parks which years back I WAS stopped.

$40 is just stupid but, I think in the long run it is worth it especially if you fish often and fish rivers and lakes where they are out patrolling.

For those who do not buy one this year, I hope you all get stopped and fined!!!!
Jk hopefully none of you do and maybe if enough people dont buy a license the price will go down.

Yes I was the teen that you remember from the bait shop picture gallary.
