There is also an abundance or recreational options in the twin cities, parks, community centers, fishing, etc..seems to be more community pride and interest. I also compared jobs as well. I put the same info into Monster and careerbuilder and pulled up the jobs in CT and then MN, I then went through and picked out the jobs that would suit me and that seemed attainable. The end result was St. Paul/Minneapolis 15, all of CT 6, no joke. I may also have the option of keeping my current job or similiar and working from home and traveling on occasion. There is also an over abundance of "friendly beautiful women", I was in awe...

I will be doing more research and visiting again next month and be able to explore more. Thus far, the ONLY downside I can see is that the winter is longer and colder..

maybe even Pulaski... Its got some of the best fishing in the world and it has some good hunting. Very cool little town as well.

I'd buy a small house in Narragansett and NOBODY who ever knew me would ever see me again if they didn't fish at night. And my guess is that some stormy night the ocean would take me out.

Alaska, no question.

You can say anything foolish to a dog, and that dog will still give you a look that says, "WOW!! What a great idea!! I never would have thought of that!!"

KY-TN for me... the TVA lake system makes for a lot of fishing territory.

These states also provide, a more peaceful way-of-life, a lower cost-of-living, reduced population (less I-95 type of congestion), less state gridlocked government,... you probably get the picture.

Interesting fact so far: only two members in this topic have stated that they would remain in CT, most everyone would pack up and leave our boudaries! (I wonder if Gov. Jodi and the Legislature read this website.)

Alaska in the spring and summer. Connecticut in the fall and winter.

Since retirement is getting to be within sight, that's an issue we're wrestling with right now. My choice would be to spend the late spring through early fall on (or near) the shore of Lake Champlain -- Vermont side, and the late fall through early spring here. My wife wants Florida in the equation somewhere. Can't afford 3 homesteads (trying to figure out how I can afford 2 with what's been going on in our nest egg investments) so something's got to give. As long as the grandkids are HERE, either Champlain or Florida is going to be out of the equation.

Everybody's got to believe something — I believe I'll go fishing.
