Gerg, the term AK47 unfortunately has become a marketing word covering a lot of semi-automatic guns but the original definition most go by is a communist military fully automatic assault rifle. Certainly last night Kerry did not say anything other than AK47. He did not distinguish between semi-automatic or automatic. He leaves that up to the public's imagination. I have shot many AK47s in Vietnam on fully automatic. What you posted was a replica in semi-automatic and not a military AK47. Fully automatic military AK47s are illegal.
The only legitimate argument the assault weapons issue has is clip size. The rest are all cosmetic issues having nothing to do with performance or capability and are not a security or safety issue, simply feel-good crap that does nothing.
