I believe it was brought up last year, but can't remember the answer. On page 8 of the fishing guide it states: WHO DOES NOT NEED A TROUT & SALMON STAMP 1. Anyone younger than 16 years of age. 2. Holders of lifetime fishing licenses issued to persons that are blind, have an intellectually disability, or certain physical disabilities (see page 10). 3. Anyone fishing waters stocked at no expense to the state (waters stocked with trout by another entity, but not stocked by the state
Also on page 8: A Trout & Salmon stamp is needed for anyone age 16 and older to fish in TMA’s, WTMA’s, Trout Parks and Broodstock Atlantic Salmon Areas. Look for the green sign in these areas. In other areas a Trout & Salmon Stamp is needed only by those age 16 and older keeping trout or salmon. Look for purple signs at many of these locations. So I take it that I don't need a trout stamp in some state expensed stocked waters as long as I practice catch and release. This seems to be in conflict with the three categories of "who doesn't need a trout stamp." Even though I already have a trout stamp, maybe someone can clarify this for me.
