The power of CTF.....getting to know someone through their posts and pictures before you ever meet in person-that's pretty cool.
It was nice to finally meet you yesterday.

I'm sorry for your loss of your grandfather.Your daughter made me smile just watching her casting like a champ in the back of that Ranger! Your grandfather would have been proud!

Congrats on 2nd! Did you have 18? What won it?

It's always nice to meet people from CTF out on the lake. We had just over 18lbs. First place only had 8 ounces more than us. We would have won if I hadn't broken off a 5 pound smallie on a dock. It was fun anyway.

I ended up placing 4th at the Kerchal tournament. We got onto the big fish too late in the day. We did better in the CT Outdoors 2 day; we came in 2nd, losing by just a few ounces. I'm heading out to Beaver Lake for the next FLW Tour event. Hopefully this will be the turning point for me. Enough with the bad luck!

I didn't have any internet service at the cabin we were at in Arkansas so I was unable to send any posts. I fished the FLW Tour event on Beaver Lake and did pretty good. I missed the cut by just 9oz placing 17th. I only caught 4 fish the last day; a 12" fish would have put me in the cut. I was able to fish this tournament for almost nothing. I used my skymiles from all the flights I took last year and got a free ticket into Little Rock airport. My buddy Scott Suggs lives about 15 minutes from the airport, so when I got in he came and picked me up. It was nice not having to spend the money on a rental car. I went and stayed with him at his house for a day and then we headed up to Beaver Lake. Practice went really good; I didn't have less than 10 lbs any day during practice. I caught a decent limit on the first day and was in 28th place. I knew if I could catch about 6lbs the second day I would make the cut. Not this time! I was so close yet again. I won $1400 which would usually just cover my expenses, but since I had a free plane ticket and was traveling with Suggs, I only had to pay the $350 for the cabin. It was good to be back at the top again. It's been awhile since I felt good about a tournament finish. I'll post some pictures from the lake when I find my missing firewire cord.
