Sneak in ???? That would be illegal

Why would you post that here?

If you are going to cheat, could you at least learn to spell it " SALTONSTALL "

Weirdbeard - I think your C-note is safe.

Anyone know what the #2 bass in CT weighed?

Jiggy,

Old DEP records state that an 11-10 was caught in Brushy Hill Reservoir many years ago. I believe an 11-4 was caught at Moodus back in the 70's as well.

Saltonstall may have a fish rivaling 12-14....but last I knew fishing illegally in a reservoir voids your catch and thus no record!

Hey jig....my bet is that the next bass over 10lbs comes on a 16 inch jighead stickbait in glow-in-the-dark pink...you better buy a mold and start creating these things!! How else are we gonna get those saltonstall bass to come out from under the bridge at night...they need something to see afterall!!!

The record previous to the current one was from Black Pond in Middlefield, and was 10-8. After the Domurat fish was certified as a new record in '61, the only fish I know of that bested the old 10-8 record were a 10-10 from East Twin (Frank Peters) and Paul Caruso's 11-4 (or was it 11-10?) from Moodus. Many years ago, a DEP emplyee showed me photos of two monsters that were taken in one night electroshocking. One was over 11. The other was well over the current State Record. That was in the '70s. He would not say where they came from, for fear of putting a stampede of crazy bass fishermen on a sub-200 acre impoundment. He also claimed that they had shocked a smallie over 8 pounds from Bantam. That was back when the smallmouth record was only 7-2.

A 10+ pounder came from Long Pond a few years back.

well, kinda ;\) I have a picture of a 10lb 13oz largemouth from CT. The pic was sent to the DEP, and by the looks of it, it might be true.

That being said, lets see what people think about this one...the 10 lb bass debate is a good one, and as winter gets here lets get it rollign again!!!

Do you think the state record bass is going to be caught this year? If so what lake? If not this year, will it happen soon or never?

What do ya think??????????????????

Your welcome Mitch.
