I did the long hair look after the crew cut days in Punk. I had much more fun in the early metal days but the closeness of the punk scene I'll never forget. You truly KNEW each and everyone involved then whether they were from the NYC scene, Hartford Crew or the New Haven crowd. Punkers were at New Wave shows occasionally, also ska shows esp at Toads. I used to hang at Ron's Place for the Saucers (1977 on) and the Reducers shows. Also hung at the Arcadia Ballroom for shows like the Plasmatics. Anyone remember them! Thats where I met a ton of metal chix too, they were 'crossing over musically' there...esp at rock cover band nights. I am a Music Chameleon, I fit in at most shows regardless, just an outfit change was needed to be 'appropriate'. I've seen way over 500 bands from 1976 to current and thats no exaggeration...ton of money spent but I never regret it since I met tons of people.......Big Dee

I remember the El n Gee Club as well as Third World, never been there but drove by plenty of times. Not my cup of tea then, I needed music that roared and shouted back at me then so Reggae wasn't the ticket. If you took a few steps southward you would have been at the Agora Ballroom in New Haven, now thats noise I could handle! we'll talk more bout this on the sand soon! W.M.

Dans Strumm and Mark Slaughter went on to form Slaughter, saw them open for KISS.

Both versions of VV Invasion were terrible. VV was a good guitar player but he let his ego get the best of him and that was his downfall.
