Def. not worth the wait for that song. Not bad, but not what, 10-15 yrs, of waiting. Though it is better than the crap that Metallica just put out.

Not too big of fan of the new GNR song. Maybe after a few listens I'll think differently.

Couldn't disagree with you more Kevin, about the new Metallica. I think it rocks. Haven't been able to stop listening to it since the day it came out. Some GREAT stuff on there. Not sure if you have listened to the entire album or not, and if so, how many times, but after the third listen I was feeling like it was the 90's again. Check out song 5, All Nightmare Long. Also, the instrumental (song 9) is as good as the ones from there past. You should definitely give it another chance. Can't wait to the show in January!

Joe, they are playing the first single on WCCC and WPLR, decent song. It is the normal AC/DC formula which I think works for them, though Brian Johnson's voice has had better days, he lost it with The Razor's Edge.

I have listened to it or atleast attempted to listen to Death Magnetic and I just cant get into it. I think it sounds like Load, which in it self, wasnt a bad album, just not as good as some of the other stuff. Hetfield's singing doesnt have the punch it used to, the guitars not nearly heavy enough for a Metallica album, but I will say atleast there is not the incessant ringing of the snare drum for the last piece o'chit they put out. Just doesnt have the umph that the older stuff had, but that is just my opinion.

Although I haven't listened to the whole Metallica album, from the songs I have heard, I agree with Hydra.

I listened to all of Black Ice the other night on YouTube. It's very classic AC/DC for the most part. As long as they're around, rock n' roll ain't gonna die.

Favorite track so far is Stormy May Day. It is kissing cousins to Led Zeppelin's In my time of Dying. Bluesy with the slide guitar. They do well when they wander off their usual path. Wish they'd do it a little more.

Maybe i'll poke around for the now old "new" GNR stuff later.

AC/DC's Johnson 'overwhelmed' by CD's success
By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY, AP Music Writer Nekesa Mumbi Moody, Ap Music Writer 2 hrs 14 mins ago

NEW YORK – AC/DC made their new album, "Black Ice," available only at Wal-Mart and through their Web site, but that hasn't limited its success: The CD not only has topped the charts in more than two dozen countries, it debuts atop the latest U.S. album chart with sales of more than 780,000 copies.

"It's overwhelming, and quite hard to take in," the legendary group's lead singer, Brian Johnson, said Wednesday after learning his group had 2008's second-biggest album debut.

"Even an old dog like me has a few more surprises in life, I guess," he said, chuckling.

The group beat out "High School Musical" for the No. 1 spot. According to figures released Wednesday by Nielsen SoundScan, "Black Ice" sold some 784,000 copies in its first week of release; the teen-oriented movie soundtrack sold about 297,000 copies. (The year's biggest album debut so far belongs to Lil Wayne, with a million copies sold of "Tha Carter III.")

In making Wal-Mart the only retailer for their album, AC/DC joined the likes of the Eagles and Journey, who have all had strong success.

"It was a win-win situation, and they decided to make it into a big thing with AC/DC merchandise and good deals with the other albums with the catalog," Johnson said. "This has been a wonderful thing."

The CD has topped the charts in 29 countries since its release in the recent days.

Hey Joe, my buddy was at that AC/DC show the other night too, and he said it was one of the loudest shows he can remember, maybe his loudest ever concert. He also said they still have "it".
