That new Godsmack ain't half bad. Neither are the chicks in the video.

What I really want to know is if Queensryche: Operation Mindcrime II is any good, or if it's going to piss me off and make me want to throw it out the window. I'm waiting on a review from a bud by end of the week. Anyone else have a review?

Tman - they're pretty good. I like it, and I'm not too into the mumble metal. Very talented group.

GM - I heard that about Metalica too. I hope they go back to the old stuff, St. anger sux.

Tool has a new one out to or soon. Lots of good stuff coming out.

Anyone know of a good local band playing this weekend? I used to go see SLAM but they split up. They were good.

Word is OM3 is supposed to follow suit of the original. Can't say for myself, have yet to hear it.
As for this weekend, one of my students (great guy) is in a really good Alice in Chains cover band called facelift.
They usually play NY but are in Naugy this weekend. (Cooks cafe)
WORTH CHECKING OUT if you like Alice in Chains.

Thanks Slack - Godsmack got the name from Chains, of course I do.

Just found out Jeff Pitchell is playing Black Eyed Sally's Friday. Think I'll be going to that one and see how I tired I am for Saturday. Branford's a ride at night and after having a few.

lancraft, sure, I'll take you up on that CD for Friday. Thank you.

Their best ever? That's saying a lot considering they have some great, older albums, including The Warning and Operation Mindcrime 1. Hope you're right. The last two albums were pretty bad.

Here's a review a buddy emailed me the other day.

I have now listened to the Ryche CD 3 times. Below is my review. I still
think it requires another listen or 2.

Tates vocals are strong. The guitar work is good, but definitely doesn't
have the Degarmo sound to it. Something is missing. Rockenfield and
Jackson sound great. Some of the mixes and temp changes are a little odd.
The album has some strong songs and some mediocre songs. Definitely a much
better piece of work when compared to the last 3 or 4 albums they have put
out. If you compare it to Mindcrime 1, there is no comparison. This album
doesn't even come close to the original. When you listen to MC 1, you felt
the story in the music. I don't get that same feel with this one. All in
all its not bad, and is worth purchasing. I would give it a 7 or a 7.5 out
of 10.

New Red Hot Chili Peppers comes out on Tuesday. I've downloaded the single. It's pretty good. Hopefully it's a great album. The last one was.

DREAM THEATER!!!!
I think that they have by far the best guitar player ever. I have every cd put out and never stop listening to them.
Lancraft - If you love DT, then Im sure you've heard of their off-beat project group dealie, Liquid Tension Experiment. They rock.

I mainly listen to hardcore nowadays, but still listen to some metal. Unless Metal goes back to the style of Metallica's And Justice For All...., and Ride the Lightning I really don't like most of it. A good German metal band is In Flames. Other bands I recomend you guys checking out are Atreyu (I LOVE these guys), As I lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, The Bled, Funeral For a Friend, and some others I can't think of right now.

If you're a fan of progressive metal, then Kamelot is a MUST. Get their newer album The Black Halo, I didn't take it out of my truck for 3 months.

-Danbury, CT - Always looking for fishing buddies!
