First off, thanks to Paul and all involved in putting this event together.
This was my first ever CTF event and I had a great time. It was a little eerie barely knowing a soul there but seeing familiar faces everywhere. Even though I didn't boat a single fish I still had a great time, I even got to witness team Labatt's go nuts as they reeled in the winner. Congrats to all the winners, and thanks again to all the organizers, I can't wait 'till next year.

Where do I begin!!???? This event to me is like looking forward to Christmas!!!

Ethan and I set out early and were on the water by 5:30!! The temperature gauge in the truck read 29* at the launch!!!! Yikes!! The first thing I noticed was that the river was up atleast 6-7 feet from the previous day!!! Ethan quickly informed me that the river was debri-laden!! There were many trees and foreign objects flying down the river!! We motored down to our first spot which was a great choice!! We found crystal clear water and slower moving currents !! Perfect!! Our first spot looked unbelievably PIKEY!!!

And soon after I hooked into the only fish we boated ALLLLLLL DAY!! At 7:20 AM !!!

We also saw Daddy Pickle and RoxyMuddin doin their thing...

Ethan and I fished hard!!!!! The fish I caught came on a Bubblegum Houdini.... I used that as my main lure all day... Between Ethan and I we threw everything we had at them all day... Every color and every lure!! I got hit once more on the Bublegum Houdini but couldn't manage a hookup! We decided to troll a few areas too.... Heres A DEN Style Photo!

It was getting close to 12:00 and we had a long drive down to Haddam.. Stopped at one more spot and had a beautiful fish follow A White Spinnerbait to the boat... Then he turned around... and slowly swam back down to his lair!!

Oh well Thats Pike Fishin!!!!!!

Haddam Meadows was another Story!!!!

Great to see everyone!!! I had a blast!!!

Put in your time... and you will be rewarded...

What a great event! Congrat's to all our winners and to those that were lucky enough to bring in a Pike yesterday! It was really nice meeting everyone and finally putting some names with faces! Thanks to Mitch for making this possible, Paul and all who helped him put this together, Chris for awesome trophies and your volunteered time helping the rest of us. The food was awesome! (I need that Clam Chowder recipe!) Kapt your Chilli was the talk of the evening! (I stuck with the women's version, LOL) And Paul, when I got home I finally tried your Pea soup, it rocks! Thanks to all who picked up Piketoberfest shirts not only for yourself but to deliver to other members who weren't able to attend, that helped me ALOT and thanks for all your compliments on the final product! Rob and I had a nice time chatting with everyone and the kids look forward to the Kids event next year! \:\)

I do more "fishing" than catching!

Great pictures and comments, everyone!
I have to thank Paul D. for being my right hand man, behind the scenes.. While I was running around, he was setting up the pea soup, securing my appreciation trophy in my LOCKED truck, putting the fryer in my truck, and various other tasks that I would probably forget  .
PIKETOBERFEST V was definitely not a one man operation!! MITCH did a great job with the raffle, and thanks to everyone who brought extra tables!! AMY Great to meet you and the family, and the t-shirts came out AWESOME!!

I didn't try MOST of the food \:o \:o I was kind of busy, BUT it ALL looked awesome!!

Wish we could do it again this sunday! \:D

After two years of getting skunked at this event.
