I knew that Subject title would get everyone's attention!

OK, every year I pose the following question:

Where in CT does everyone think will produce a 10 lb plus largemouth? List your top 3 places and some reasons why.

Looking forward to reading the responses...this ends up being a fishing guide for the season for me.

1. Rogers

2. Rogers

3. Rogers

Rogers Lake in Lyme, CT right on Route 1 has some HUGE largemouth bass, plenty of forage fish, tons of cover/weeds/drop offs/reefs/docks/holes, etc...

BIG BAIT = BIG FISH

If you fish Rogers with BIG crank baits, BIG topwaters, BIG live baits you should get into 7#-10#+ largemouth without too much trouble.

Good Luck

the number 1 trophy largemouth lake in ct is the upper compensating resivour in newhartford and grandby. Just dont get caught fishing there. I worked with a guy on second shift and he brought in a 11.75(weighed on very accurate scale) largemouth to work one day and guess where he caught it. \:D \:D

I know a few gentlemen who scuba dive next to my cottage on highland. these guys say they have seen schools of bass that go well over 12lbs. Problem with highland is all the boat pressure! Gotta get out early or late for the big boys

I think it could come from anywhere. Just need good genetics and a fish with a nasty appetite.

....If we have any say... Vote for May

I agree with jighead,it could come from anywhere in the state, the problem is getting them to bite.10+lbLMB didnt get to be BIG by eating artificials. In eastern CT I'll give Amos lake and Beach pond the nod, lots of alewifes to grow fat on. Tight lines.

Long Pond, Beach Pond, Billings Lake...
