Arlow, got the Shadows Fall disk, not to shabby, one of the guitar players sounds alot like Zack Wylde, only heavier. Skindred albumn is really good, al be it very different! Don't get it expecting to have it chock full O' Pit riffs, cause it's not. Check into Otep for some "local boys" to support, The Bass player (Jay, he's a meathead, cool guy) is right from Southington. If you REALLY have an urge to melt your eardrums, pick up any album from Nile.
I finally figured out why we get up so early in the morning to fish. It's not so much the sunrise bite that gets us out there; but the fact that once we have a wife and kids the only time we can actually get to the lake is at that ungodly hour!
Arlow: Shadows fall is pretty good. I've been listening to All That Remains recently. The album i have is "this darkened heart" I like them a lot, although its a little too much screaming at times.
Spineshank is another band that I have been listening to as of late. Their ablum "Self Destructive Pattern" is amazing.
I saw Killswitch Engage last fall, and they are one of the more popular metalcore bands.
If you want something different but really good...grung, punk, heavy and blues thrown into a mix, try The Melvins. Hard to find unless you go through Amazon but well worth it. Next time we fish together Mitch, I will bring a cd for you to check out.
Shadows Fall was a Local Band from Mass , my old band opened for them at the Fat Cat in Springfield about 3 years ago. Glad to see they got so big.
Its funny because the band I was in , in like 95' opened for Hatebreed at the old Barbacan in New Haven , back when they were a local band. We considered Jamie Jasta a close personal friend.
Shadows Fall is on Tour with Slipknot and lamb of God. That would be a good show.
Lamb of God has a nice angry sound. I may have to crack open the wallet. Slipknot is good too. Funny story: We used to have this goofball repair tech where i work. One of the other guys on the bench used to play Slipknot once in a stray while. Goofball was a "guitar instructor" on the side, and apparently had an issue with the music. He finally popped one day and started screaming "DUDE, WTF !!! IT SOUNDS LIKE SOME GUY IS GETTING IN THE Etc, etc...

I had no clue there were other head bangers here.
My teenage kids who play guitar still tell dad to turn it down.
Funny, my 10yr old asked me if I ever heard of Twisted Sister. Couldn't tell him Daddy has partied with the band several times back in the days when they were a local band.
