Yeah, the ticket prices for this were outrageous.

I never planned on going, unless I scored reasonably priced tickets last minute.

A friend received four tickets, so he's sharing with me and two other friends and we're all going. rawk

Still trying to confirm when the parking lot opens, but this schedule:

Doors open at 2pm.

Set times:
ANTHRAX: 4:00PM
MEGADETH: 5:30PM
SLAYER: 7:00PM
METALLICA: 8:35PM

Was planning on waiting it out and going dirt cheap, but has the opportunity to get legends seats right behind the dugout for around face. Given that I'm too damn old to hop in the pit for 8 hrs, a nice comfy leather seat works for me between sets. Didn't realize Metallica was going on that early. Thankful I'll be home by midnight. Was planning on 2ish. Let me know where you are and if you want to meet up for a beer. 914-714-2675

so is megadeth gonna show up? I heard that they are backing out. I was them at Mayhem Fest this year. I was actually disappointed with their 40min set.

Yesterday's Big 4 show absolutely ROCKED headbanger1 Anthrax was so happy to be playing in their hometown and they sounded great. Def gonna check them out when they tour for their new album.

Megadeth was a little disappointing, but Mustaine is in a ton a pain - sounds like neck surgery for him. Is there a better live song than Peace Sells?!?!

I'm not a big Slayer fan, but I gotta say-- they brought it last night. Kerry King is amazing and their set was killer.

Now to the grand finale - which was Metallica showing everyone why they were the headliner. A set heavy with Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets, they tore it up for 2 hrs. I'd be shocked if anyone who saw the show believes that they didn't blow everyone else off the stage. I have never seen them play that aggressively and their set was the best I've ever seen them do. I love how those bands push each other to be their best.

All in all - absolutely phenomenal! Cops and stadium security could not have been cooler, the fans were respectful and had a great time. I even got out of the parking lot within 5 minutes after the show. Lots of credit to everyone involved with the show. It was an unbelievable experience beginning to end!

LONG LIVE METAL!!!! headbanger1 headbanger1 headbanger1

mrmooch1, nice texting with you during the show.

You pretty much summed it up. Great night.

I didn't know what to expect as for the crowd's behavior, but I didn't see any problems. People were well behaved.

I think the other bands got shafted a bit, because the sound system definitely favored Metallica.

They completely dominated.

I really enjoyed hearing all of Orion played in its entirty. That's not something you'd normally hear from them.

They really needed to turn up the vocals for Slayer's Tom Araya. He got drowned out by the guitars.

Kind of weird to be in seats for a Slayer show. I tried to get on the field, but security had it nailed down.

I only saw one guy rush the field and he was nabbed pretty quickly.

Honestly, I think a club atmosphere better favors all of the opening bands.

I've seen Metallica multiple times over the years and they always deliver. I wish I could say the same about their recent albums, though.

After a full day of tailgating starting right at noon, today is a painful day. But, I'll never say I'm getting too old for METAL! rawk

Here's an old school tailgating pic circa 1989 ...
