Went to see Black Sabbath (heaven and hell) and Megadeth at the casino Tuesday. Fantastic show...there was a third band opening also, not sure of the name but i missed most of them and that seemed like a good thing. Megadeth played most of their hits and a few new songs which weren't bad. Sabbath was spot on...it coulda been 1982. They sounded great. Did about half or more of the songs off each of the three Dio albums and 2 new cuts from their collection that's out. Here's some fair pics and links to a few video cuts I took...they're not great since I didn't want my camera confiscated and the mic was gettin vaporized cuz the sound was sooo loud. You get the idea...
Anyone going to see Godsmack at the Sun tonight? I have seen them 4 or 5 times, always a top notch show. especially the dueling drums.Sully is a talented musician, plays all the instruments on stage..
Godsmack rocked Friday night they opened with Enemy and closed with Stand Alone.
During the show Sully said to a few rows in Section 100 Get the F' up this is a F'n rock show. This isn't MTV you're not watching a Plasma Screen here. This is a Godsmack show get the F'up and move. The whole place is standing and your sitting on your ass. If you hava handicap or something I'm sorry if not you better move. That was classic.
Here's the set list and some sos so pictures. We hung out after with the guys again.

Researchers say they've found a clear link between hard rock music and intelligence. The claim came after a study of the musical tastes of 1000 brainy youngsters found they preferred the likes of Ozzy Osbourne to Mozart.
The survey was carried out by a team at the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth at Warwick University in the UK, And they've even come up with an explanation.
The researchers believe many bright children often feel isolated because of their high IQs - so they tend to seek comfort in loud music. They believe lyrics dealing with alienation and hate can be a form of escape for brain boxes.
Speaking of Ozzy, the new cd rocks. I think its the best in like, ummm, ohh, 7 years Also hear is doing awsome in the charts. Number 3 last i heard. This is pretty amazing for an old far that wont stop....
How can you put Q-RYCH in as metal??? i saw them i think twice as early ae two yrs ago at Mohegan Sun I decided to go play blackjack and wait for Judas Priest to come on. If you classify Q-rych as metal then you have to put in Striper.Just my opninon My top three Ozzy-Bark at the moon Metallica- Master of puppets Motorhead-Ace of Spades

Queensryche, The Warning, Rage for Order, and Operation Mindcrime are metal classics. After Mindcrime, Empire and The Promised Land are very good albums. But as Jim mentioned, they went downhill. Their latest albums are poor. Their old stuff remains some of my favorite music, though.
iam not saying they werent a good band i just dont think that they were metal.I put them in the class of bands like Warrant or extreme kinda of hard but really chickie like not quit the metal of Sabbath or Priest..just me though

gotta agree with rookie, that new ozzy song isnt half bad. Maybe if he makes it to the hartford ozzfest I'll actually stay to listen. Gotta give it up for the new metal bands. Killswitch, bullet, propain. and the couple others that have been putting out some quality music the past couple months.
