Bigtoad invited me to join him and 2 buddies for a few days on the big water for smallies.
Like I told Mike, don’t tempt me with a good time!
The weather was perfect every day which allowed us to explore many lake spots as well as the river.
Unfortunately, the mid September transition was in full effect, and the fishing wasn’t epic.
We did catch fish, with Bigtoad landing a beautiful 5-9 beast on the first day to take big fish honors for the boat.
The giant Smallies eluded me this trip, but still caught some decent ones plus my PB walleye so that was kind of neat.
We did a lot of running and gunning, hitting Mike’s waypoints and we burned plenty of gas in simply beautiful surroundings and crystal clear water.
We had fun and that’s what really matters.
Until next time smallies….keep eating gobies and fattening up!

Nice Walleye and a decent Smallie.

Sept. Bass fishing is tough for most of us but it's so beautiful up there and good weather makes it worth the trip.

Those cold water bass taste yummy!! Did you keep any? One of the charter boats used to let his fares take out a dinghy to the break wall for loads of perch and bass!!

Great trip in spite of limited fish. Walleye will make good eats.

If there are fish to catch. I'll be there to my end.
