I'm in the process of tying up jigs & chatterbaits for the swap so I'm just putting this out there trolling for ideas.

Any info you care to share, head style/color/size, skirt colors or little modifications you make would all be helpful.

Black works good. Gold shiner color is up there. Combined black and blue 3/8 and 1/2 oz.for chatterbaits.

Pig and Jig, black and blue. Or just black. Brown would be a third choice. 1/4 oz. - 1/2 oz.

Those would be my choices.

I wish I had customized spinnerbaits and chatterbaits to my choice.

One thing I want is a crawdad pattern chatterbait. This means the face plate is not silver or gold, but brown, red, etc. A trailer keeper is necessary, something to hold the trailer on good.

For a baitfish pattern I would want bucktail as opposed to rubber skirts. Want durability. Also, a weedguard. I love fishing them for pike and bass in weedy areas, a little more weedlessness is a huge plus.

I've played with some options for coloring the blades, getting the final finish to be durable seems to be the trick - spray painting them is certainly the easiest but it wears fairly easily.

Bucktail jigs with a weedguard for pike fishing...now that's an idea.

I'm tying the chatterbaits with a trailer keeper design that I found in a youtube video by Aaron Martens.

I meant spinner baits with bucktail and a weed guard, but a big weed less bucktail jig with a big paddle tail trailer would be good for pike I would think.

if you have face book check out Bryant's custom jigs and Al Rubosky, both make custom jigs/chatterbaits, spinner baits, under spins etc... They are top of the line, built to last. Also, rocky ledge makes some awesome spinner baits too.

Arkie style Jig head in black/blue. Same for the Chatterbait but must have a gold blade.

Well, I have plenty of chatterbaits left over (sizes from 1/4oz -> 1oz variety of colors), and quite a few blue/black arkie jigs in 3/8oz & 1/2oz. I'll ship them out to anyone interested using flat rate boxes in groups of 5 chatterbaits or 8 jigs for $20, $4 per additional chatterbait, $2.50 per additional jig. All chatterbaits use stainless clips, stainless blades, Mustad hooks, hand tied skirts along with a hand tied bait keeper.

I make them from both football and arkie (boxing glove) jigs in the following sizes & notes as to what I have readily available:

1/4 oz (blue-black only, football heads only)
3/8 oz (lots of colors in football heads, a few arkies)
1/2 oz (even mix of football & arkies left)
3/4 oz (football only)
1 oz (football only)

I have the following patterns left from the swap -

Blue/Black w/ clear scale belly on a blue jighead:

Pearl white/chartreuse with a clear scale belly on a pearl w/silver & black flake jighead:

Craw - Pumpkin w/ red flake & banded brown w/ green flake back with orange accent belly on a watermelon w/red flake head

Golden Shiner - Gold scale back, clear w/ green flake sides & body with orange belly accent on an mottled orange/green head with green flake

Nice looking CBs there. What material do you use to fasten the skirt to the jig?
