My wife and I just saw Queensryche and Judas Priest sunday night!!!!
Queensrych opened with a 8 song set that just left us wanting more. This was the first time I have ever seen either of these bands live and all I can say is wow.
Geoff Tate's voice was amazing. They were pushing a new album so most of what we hear was unfamiliar. They only played two big hits closing their set with Empire and Take hold the flame (awesome). I really wanted to hear a lot more.
Priest made up for it though with an amazing 2 and a half hour set.
Halford is back with the band and still has it even as old as he is!!!!!!!!!! Wow that man can sing!!!!!!! Priest was amazing and played many classics and played them all well!!!! An affort at reconstructing the song list is as follows. Beyond the realm of death, Pain killer, Eat me alive, Victim of changes, Exciter, Diamonds in rust, Dissadent agressor, Delivering the goods, The ripper, Hell bent for leather, Breakin the law, Metal gods, Living after midnight, Grinder, Heading out to the highway, Desert plains, Electric eye (opener), You've got another thing comin, Turbo Lover, along with three off of the new album, Judas rising, Revolution and Hellrider
Crimany I feel old here. The hardest thing in my day was Black Sabbath{ which I still love!}.Then came the others: Dio , Metallica,Malmstien & Riseing Force,Priest { Hard to believe Halford is still kickin}.What about Glen Tipton and KK Downing???
Ain't this somethin'? I told my pap and mam I was coming to the mountains to trap and be a mountain man. Acted like they was gut-shot. Says, "son, make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Them mountains is for animals and savages." I said, "Mother Gue, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world." And by God I was right.
Damn, I wish I had know that earlier! I'm a HUGE Priest fan (http://www.judas-priest.com) and I managed to get my ticket this morning for the Bport show. I guessed the pre-sale password (ANGEL) and it worked. I did this at 10:05 and got row P (15?). Saw them at Mohegan twice in the past year. Great shows. I just wish they'd mix up the set list more and play some rare songs. Enough of Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight.
I went to ozzfest this year, took my 17 yr. old son for his birthday. great show, both on the main stage(black label society, iron maiden and sabbath) and the 2nd stage(black dahlia murder, a dozen furies, rob zombie). I had seats, the lawn was a muddy mess which the people on the lawn shared with us by pelting us with muddy clods of lawn. Great concert! Going to motley crew on saturday. Lew
