kops501 Member Registered: 04/14/12 Posts: 229	I'm just wondering why they are illegal in CT and not in other states. They all have cull rings to let the small crabs out. And why we have to be present with our traps at all times? I'm not a commercial fisherman and I do not have $150 a year to pay the state for a commercial permit in order to use a few of these traps. Thanks

"Politically correct" was initially coined by Leon Trotsky to refer favorably to those whose views remained in sync with the ever-shifting Bolshevik Party line. They have a really long neck and will try to bite if your not too careful. Tossed him back in. St. Clair River. Port Huron, MI. #1 Prolific Fishery in North America Bar None!

Although, they exist in the southern states where those traps are the norm.

Boat_Head Member Registered: 04/12/05 Posts: 209	Another reason to maintain the ban on ChesBay style traps is "ghosting." Often they get lost and continue to kill, kill, kill for ages. If you want crabs, attend your lines and traps. Live with it.
