Thoughts and prayers go out to you, your friends, and family Capt Hoop. I hope this passes quickly with very little damage....

I just talked to Hoop on the phone. Like Kelly said his power is out he is on the generator. He says it's blowing seems to be about 70mph with some gusts. Neighbors are all checking in by phone. The pumps are working up north putting water into the river making the Level rise. Hopefully that will not be an issue. He doesn't expect to get much sleep it will be a long night.

By morning the worst should be over. Please everyone say a prayer for Hoop and everyone there in the Gulf coast that this passes through with minimal distress and damage

Be safe Hoop you're in our thoughts and prayers

Yup, here we go again....

Updated at 7 a.m. ET: Hurricane Isaac made its second landfall in southeastern Louisiana early Wednesday, sending up to 12 feet of water into people’s homes as an 18-mile stretch of levee was overtopped, officials said.

OK I talked to Hoop again this morning at 7am their time. It was a long night, the storm is very slow-moving but he is OK. His area and property are not flooded, he had a tree come down and a phone pole break, and there is debris in his yard. They have no power and no running water, but he's got the generator, and stores of water, food and fuel.

There is debris, power lines down, trees down etc all over the road so there is no going out and no one can come in, so he's isolated presently - he's expecting a week - two weeks to restore power and water. He'll be up all day and finally get some sleep tonite.

Apparantly some levees farther north did overflow, but in his area things are OK. He'll go out today to take a look around the area and do more assessment. It was a long night but so far he made it through OK thank God.
