2 days? Or is this a typo?
No typo, the crock is pretty low heat, and after 48 hours everything comes off much easier! you just need to be carful, the bone can come apart easy till it drys out again.

Zach was that your wifes good crock pot that she makes Sunday dinner in? Did you do it outside cause I know it stinks. Your mount came out awsome. Have not done a head yet but when I do the horns it on a gas cook top OUTSIDE. Nice job
Congrats on another fine state land buck Isaac! You shoot some real beauties year after year. Thoroughly impressed with your ability to find great buck spots and your patience to wait for the big dog. Love the fact you grunted him in. I just started using a grunt tube this year and I was able to grunt one in as well. Seems to be a very effective way of bringing them in.
Did you weigh that beast? He looks huge.
Do you ever use a doe bleat when you're buck hunting or do you prefer the grunt at all times?
Again, congrats on another real dandy.

Where have you been? I was just thinking that I hadn't seen a post from Stars & Stripers this season. Hope you got a good one this season!
Yes I did try to weigh him but couldn't get him high enough off the ground to get an accurate weight.I could only get the scale to 130lbs and his head and neck where still on the ground. (He was skin and bone no fat at all, and a shorter deer too.)
I do use a bleat, grunt, can call, wheeze, whatever it takes!
I've been crazy busy with work the past year so I haven't turned the key on my boat now for two years and haven't had anything to report regarding fishing and little time to visit the site but I had to make time to check out the deer hunting reports. I knew you'd get another brute and I wanted to see what Jon and Will and Spikehorn and Mycept and Kevin and the rest of the deer hunters were up to this season.
Another great year of big buck kills at CTF. There are some damn fine deer hunters on this site.
I took a basket 8 point this year. About 145 pounds or so on the hoof. Nothing like the brute you bagged or some of the bigger bucks I've shot in the past. Didn't have much time to hunt this year so I took the first and only rack buck I saw. Best thing about it was it was the first buck I ever grunted in and its the first buck I've shot on my own property and I saw this buck three times last year and found his shed (as a 6 pointer) this summer.
I'll be making a short post about the hunt and if I can get the pics off my Droid I'll upload them to the site.
Congrats again on your fine Buck Isaac. That buck is a real brute with a great rack. You shoot some really fine bucks and the fact you get them on state land is even more impressive.
