A total team effort spearheaded by a bunch of hard working guys and gals. This only happened because of the effort of the sporting organizations and many of our members are members of other big lobbying groups like DU and the bass organizations. They were doing double duty. Our members and leaders deserve a tip of the hat and a curtain call. This was maybe the most forceful lobbying effort ever put on Hartford. No one wanted to go against thousands of sportsmen and women especially when any fairminded person can see that doubling fees is unreasonable. But to have a bi-partisan 100% vote is unheard of, maybe this will help them get together on the other budget issues. And we can never forget Bob Crook and CCS. If you are not a member give it some consideration, he is our number one lobbyist in Hartford. You guys and gals are difference makers.
Price paid for my all-waters fishing license a few weeks ago: $50 Number of hours using license so far: 4 Number of fish caught with 2010 license: 0 Money I could have saved if I'd waited: $18 Knowing that maybe the letters I wrote helped make a change: Priceless
So glad to see this news! THANK YOU to all the guys and girls on here who wrote letters, made phone calls, attended meetings and HELPED MAKE A CHANGE! I'm glad to see they were able to get it done before this weekend, too. Hopefully word gets around quickly. It's nice to see the government do the right thing for a change.
One idea to recognize Bob Crook's efforts on behalf of Sportsmen might be to attend Bob's annual Coalition of Ct Sportsmen's awards dinner at the Aquaturf, usually held on a Sunday in October. Proceeds go to support Bob's lobbying efforts.
