I wish I could find my firewire cord to download those pictures. Beaver lake was a mess. The water was way up into the bushes and peoples yards, and was like chocolate milk. There was only a small section of the lake down by the dam that looked even remotely like the usual Beaver. Even that wasn't as clear as normal. I actually preferred the way the lake fished this time over previous years. I was talking to Larry Nixon and he said he had never seen Beaver like this in his whole life. I think it may have been a once in a lifetime event. I leave for my next FLW tournament in a few days; I don't know what to expect from Tellico lakes. We were there alot earlier last year and the fishing was pretty tough. I heard the bite will be alot better which means you have to get a lucky draw to do well. Right now I'm focusing on the CT Outdoors 2 day this coming weekend. For anyone fishing it Good Luck! I'll see you there.

I finally found my firewire cord. I posted one pic back on the first post from Beaver. The lake was crazy high and muddy.

Art and I placed 2nd in the CT Outdoors 2-day open this past weekend; we ended up losing by just 4ozs. Art lost one that would have won it for us, but that's fishing. We did catch a 4-6 smallie for big fish the second day. We split $1200 which isn't bad for 2 days of fishing. It's definitely better than a sharp stick in the eye!

The day before the tournament I went out and practiced and had the best day of my life on Candlewood. I had 5 fish for over 27lbs. I had a couple 4+, a 5, a 6, and a 7-14. The 7-14 is the biggest largemouth I've ever caught on Candlewood. I tried to get a picture with my phone but could only fit her head into view. After I caught that one I decided I should probably stop pre-fishing.

nice picure jess. pretty serious flood. i was killing time last winter and checking out the cost of lake front property on lake wateree in south carolina. the houses on the upper end of the lake were on regular foundations. the farther down the lake you looked you saw more houses on stilts. i see why from your photo.

FLW Tour #5
Fort Loudon/Tellico Lakes Knoxville, TN
Water Temp: 83
Post-Spawn

Coming into this tournament I was prepared for some poor fishing. Last year at this lake, I think I came in 15th weighing in only 5 fish. It took about 11 hours to drive to the lake, which is just south of Knoxville, TN. I arrived at the house to find all the good beds had been claimed. Suggs and I had to sleep in a bunk bed. He called the bottom bunk before he even arrived at the house. Sucker! The bottom bunk had about 16" of space; it was like sleeping on the floor under a regular bed. I had to meet Gabe at the boat launch at 5:30am, so I tried to get a good night sleep. Gabe had heard that the fishing on Tellico was terrible this time of year, so we were going to focus on Loudon. We started out trying to locate fish out deep. We searched the open water for drop-offs and ledges that the fish might be holding on. Usually you can locate where they are by first finding the bait, but this lake had bait everywhere. We practiced most of the day out deep without a keeper bite. Gabe was starting to get frustrated and I interjected that there are always some fish shallow. We went shallow to fish some docks and caught a few keepers almost immediately. I was skipping a skinny dipper way up under the docks and dragging out some good largemouth. We did that for the rest of the afternoon, catching some decent keepers. We got off the water at about 7:30; it was a long day!
