This is my home state where a large number of relatives and dear friends live. They are my reason for existance.

People, Baby! People.

All the negatives you see or hear could be true.

However, to be a Connecticut Yankee is something you have to live to fully appreciate.

I just celebrated my 50th high school reunion from North Haven High School. I can't begin to tell you what that fact and also, reuniting with people who have always been most important to me, means.

Go you Huskies and I don't just mean UConn Huskies.

We are Family.

Respectfully,
"Winston", the kid

We make a life by what we give."

Empire, La. and the surounding area. It is a world in it's own.

I am here and have no desire to move on. Outstanding fishing year round, low cost, and no traffic. Good thing the wife likes it. Taxes are 0.00. Our garbage, water, and sewer combined is $9.20 per month with twice a week trash pick up. Recycling not required.

Shrimp, Blue crabs, oysters, and all the fish you can eat year round. Others seasonal. Wild boar hunting year round. 2 season gardens giving us a year round gardening season on the most fertile ground there is. Citrus trees and banana trees in almost every yard.

Many other reasons but I am glad I found this place and have had the chance to live here. I have given my family a new place to visit and experience. For the few that have made it here they know what I am talking about.

Life is Good!

Fishing is not a matter of life or death. It's more important than that.

I've lived a lot of places in this country ... east coast, west coast and in between ... and still believe southeastern CT is one of the best places to live.

I've been here 16 years and have no plans to move any time soon.

Capt Hoop, I have never been to LA. I guess I should give a try. I am partial to the beauty of the mountains, but you never know...........

I consider myself a CT. snowbird these days as I stay near Lake Ontario summers. Weather extremes are minimum here for us as compared to blizzard, wildfire, tornado, hurricane country. I recall winters -20 degrees many nites in the 60's. We seldom get below zero anymore. Snowfall depths have reduced over the years and we as fishermen note the change in ice thickness winters. Other than the smoggy summers I feel Ct. is a happy medium for safe habitat. Our weather extremes are minimal compared to other challenges that ocurr elswhere in the country. Very productive, educated, positive work ethic here in general. Lets pray we keep it in these tough times.

Mountains no more than 2 hours away. NY City an Hour. LIS with so many ports to visit (unlike West Coast), Four (4) Seasons.........moderate climate...rare tornadoes or hurricanes.......no major bug issues if you use deet when in the woods.....(god i hate bugs) Most people are very friendly.........Jobs are not abundant but we're in better shape than Michigan.........Jodi Rell is our Governor........Now don;t get me wrong...there are negatives also.....The income Tax is a scam....Fairfield County Housing is overpriced (hopefully this will change)..&..Yellowfin Tuna rarely come into the Sound.

Now that I am in college, I have started to think where I want to live when I get older. I have thought about moving down south, but I am afraid the bugs are too bad for my taste.

I like CT, because of it's accessability. Like everyone stated before, weather is pretty decent, I like ice fishing, and in less than 4 hours I'm fishing Champlain or Winni.

I just wished I lived in a town with more lakes. It was my first time in Northern Rhode Island a couple months ago, and all the lakes and ponds, right off the main road seemed really cool. I also like the Berkshires, same thing. If I stay at a college here in the northeast, I have a good chance at getting placed at a job within my geographical range.
