I personally have no problems with them closing specific lakes to protect the spawning pike, and if they feel they need to do it, they should.

I'm interested though in how people would feel if they started doing this for all of the major game species on at least a few lakes. What if the trophy bass lakes were closed during the spawning season, would people support this or cry foul? I guess only bass and pike would be applicable for spawning closures since they're the two most popular it seems.
