I would like to inquire about my interest in Kayaking the CT State Forrest waterways.
Specifically, my interest in kayaking in a smaller waterway which
is part of the Naugatuck State Forest network and was recently purchased by the State of Ct
in a Valley area town around 2002 from a local Utility Co.
Today the land has been clearly marked with official State Land Markings replacing all utility markings from the past.
What is confusing for some time now, people entering have no reference to any officially marked parking area or wood plaque greeting station noting rules regulations or otherwise. Knowing many hike the old trails of the system few experience the true benefit of the small lake that borders the property.
Are there any restrictions DEP officers or local officials will enforce that will not allow this Kayaker to use the small lake for paddling now knowing visitors have no visually posted references saying NO BOATING on site?
